Bighead Carp

Hypophthalmichthys nobilis
Indian Game Fishes / Bighead Carp
Family: Cyprinidae
ICUN red list status: Data deficient (DD)
Habitat: Fresh Water

Hitherto, not considered to be a game fish due to the misconception that this fish cannot be hooked properly in the mouth, Bighead carp can be a worthy adversary to any carp angler who wants to test his skills and patience to the limit. This fish can be targeted from depths. A critically balanced hook matched with a floating feeder baited with fast dissolving sweetened bait is the most productive method. A big specimen can give you an exhilarating fight. Albino Bighead, a very rare fish, is the same fish except for different pigmentation on  the skin.
